Jackson Chourio

The Long-Term Brewers Bet

Jackson Chourio signed with the Milwaukee Brewers out of Venezuela at 16. By the time he was 19, he was a consensus top-five prospect in baseball. In December 2023, before he had ever played a regular-season MLB game, the Brewers signed him to an eight-year, $82M contract — the largest pre-debut deal in MLB history. That contract by itself told the hobby world something meaningful: a small-market team was making a generational financial commitment to a teenage outfielder.

His 2024 rookie season validated the bet. Chourio hit 20+ home runs, stole 20+ bases, played a strong outfield, and anchored the Brewers lineup as they made another deep playoff run. He’s not yet a superstar, but the combination of tools, age, contract length, and team commitment makes him one of the most interesting collecting targets of the current prospect class.

Key Cards to Own

Chourio’s catalog is young, and it starts with his pre-debut Bowman Chrome Prospect Auto.

2022 Bowman Chrome Prospect Auto #CPA-JCO

Printed two years before his MLB debut, the 2022 Bowman Chrome Prospect Auto (CPA-JCO) is his key pre-rookie card. Numbered parallels have shorter print runs. The live listings below show what is available today.

2024 Topps Chrome #161 — the flagship Chrome RC

Chourio’s officially-recognized Topps Chrome rookie. Raw base copies and Refractors are widely available. This is the right entry for most collectors who want a licensed Chourio RC without chasing the Bowman Chrome Prospects market.

2024 Bowman Chrome RC — the bridge card

The 2024 Bowman Chrome flagship rookie (#69). This issue sits between his 2022 Bowman Chrome Prospect Auto and his 2024 Topps Chrome RC. Refractors and numbered parallels are the cards to look for.

2024 Topps Update — the debut-season flagship

The 2024 Topps Update set features Chourio’s Topps flagship RC (#US240) alongside a Rookie Debut card (#US155). This is the most accessible starting point for a collector who wants a licensed Chourio rookie in hand.

How to Buy Chourio Cards

For most collectors, the cleanest entry is a raw or PSA 10 2024 Topps Chrome Refractor. It’s licensed, graded-friendly, and anchors any Chourio PC without requiring a commitment to the Bowman Chrome Prospects Auto market.

If you’re chasing the trophy card, the 2022 Bowman Chrome Prospect Auto (CPA-JCO) should be purchased graded from major auction houses or well-established dealers. Autograph counterfeits and sticker-auto look-alikes are real risks on Bowman Chrome Prospect autographs.

For ongoing exposure, sealed 2024 Bowman Chrome and 2024 Topps Chrome hobby boxes continue to produce Chourio inserts, parallels, and short prints. It’s the cheapest way to end up with multiple Chourio cards in hand.

Parallels & Variations to Know

The numbered parallels of the 2022 Bowman Chrome Prospect Auto are the scarcest Chourio cards. The lower the serial number, the thinner the market: low-numbered copies rarely trade, and one-of-one parallels surface only at auction. Read the serial stamp on the exact card and compare graded copies of the same parallel before buying.

What to Watch

Chourio’s 2024 rookie season is behind him, and his cards track his play. Watch for All-Star selections, playoff runs, and any approach of 30/30 or 40/40 territory.
